Once again, the salmonflies are starting to emerge on the Big Hole River. This hatch is the “one” hatch that every angler hopes to fish at least once in their lifetime. Those of us in Butte, and southwest Montana, are fortunate to have that opportunity right out our back door.
The arrival of the big bugs also officially kicks off the summer fishing season and the start of increased traffic on all of our rivers. A little bit of patience and courtesy will go a long way out there. Be safe and go catch some fish!
